Bio
Blk Sonshine are Neo Muyanga and Masauko Chipembere. They use acoustic guitars and vocals to create a sound that owes no allegiance to one catergory. It is a confluence of various forms of music from around the world: soul, jazz, hip-hop, folk and African rythms. The group formed in South Africa in 1995. Masauko is a Malawian American and Neo Muyanga is South African. Both were raised with music from various corners of the world. The group released thier first album "Blk Sonshine" in South Africa in 2000. They toured the country with Mary J. Blige and opened for Dead Prez. They were also included on bills with Joan Armatradding and Susana Baca. The album was well received by various audiences. Blk Sonshine are now touring the U.S. and promoting their first release.
